To survive the species has to make seeds.

Seed production in flowering plants in how they reproduce to carry on the next generation of plants for a given species.  Without this production the species would cease to exist (or go extinct).

Well if the seeds are in fruit then the animal eats the fruit and expells the seeds away from the mother plant, giving the plant a chance to spread out where it grows.
