As well as those mentioned above, it's pretty good for learning new skills. Like I had no clue about camping and hiking and stuff like that and after D of E, I learnt so much! It gives you the opportunity to do something that you maybe haven't done before, and often you get to meet new people too. Employers really love it because it shows that you're willing to do a little extra.
