What are the affects of V.O.G on water catchments,Plant life and human beings?

You will find some answers here.  If the concentration is high enough, the effects are severe resulting in death. As far as catchment is concerned less so since the water is treated prior to consumption and any acid created would have been neutralized. Farmers on Big Island toward the southwest have been losing a lot of plants lately to VOG concentrations. SO2 levels  especially have been up  for the last year or so.  6000 tons/day can create real problem unless the trade winds blow the right way.
