  2. Most agriculture is mechanized, except for orchards and vineyards.

  3. The United States of America has arguably the most diverse, developed, productive and efficient agricultural industry of any nation of Earth.  In areas of high precipitation there are vast areas of "dry land" farming where no, or limited, irrigation is used to raise crops (much of the eastern 1/3 of the United states). Other areas that are more arid use irrigation from underground aquifers or river systems to deliver water to the fields (much of central North America uses the Ogalala Aquifer for this purpose). Other areas, such as California (by far the biggest agricultural state of any in terms of dollars of produce), use an extensive system of reservoirs, aquaducts, and canals to deliver water to an otherwise semi-desert climate. California also has a vast underground aquifer in the Central Valley that farmers drawn upon to irrigate crops simultaneously with its developed Central Valley water network.

Also, the U.S. has a highly developed and well managed livestock industry that efficiently uses the grasses and forage matter that grow naturally to produce large quantities of livestock meats. Most domestic meat production is initially grown on these vast grasslands before entering large concentrated feedlots to be "finished" for market. Most beef cattle only spend the last 1/3 to 1/4 of their life in these commercial feedyards before slaughter.

The American agriculture industry is a true marvel that has supplied our nation with a vary stable, consistent, nutritious  and affordable food supply.  Its efforts should be commended.

  4. it depends on the area in California for example we have livestock (cows, pigs, poultry, rabbits, horses, goats) both meat and breeding  and we also have plant crops like soybeans, corn, asparagus, cotton etc. in the central valley and in the north we have logging and in the napa marin and sonoma counties we have ALOT of vineyards!

Here in California we also don't have as much machine harvesting and care as in other states, we have immagrants do alot of the work and also illegal citizens as much as I hate it. But they are part of california's society and they have great food!

But agriculture in the US depends on the area

  5. The US is a vast country with a huge and diverse agriculture industry. It relies heavily on large areas cultivated by machinery, but you can find pretty much every kind of agricultural practice here.
