  1. aim::-"At Eddie Rockets we pride ourselves on offering customers an authentic slice of Americana."

-"At Eddie Rockets we believe that good old-fashioned service is never outdated"

Eddie Rockets is an Irish owned Fast Food franchise, with stores across Ireland, and in Gran Canaria and Liverpool - much the same locations as held by Dunnes Stores.

The restaurants are themed as 1950s diners, and serve almost as an antithesis on how to run a fast food chain; real crockery and cutlery is used, drinks are served in glassware, waiters are employed and food is brought to your seat. At busy periods, there can be long waits to be seated by the maitre d' (more commonly also a bouncer).

Many of their restaurants are licenced to serve alcohol (Usually Route 66 Beer) and open late at night, meaning that their Dublin city centre locations have become part of the drinking culture in the city.

    History

The First one opened on South Annes Street in Dublin. Since then, they have opened in many other locations, such as Cork, Tallaght, Donnybrook, Rathmines , Baggot Street, Galway , Limerick and Waterford.

They are very similar to Johnny Rockets, in style and food, though are not connected with them.

    original stuff from ROCKETS!!

"The concept of Eddie Rockets was born in the late 1980’s, after Niall Fortune (Founder & MD of Eddie Rockets) had a chance encounter with a classic American diner whilst travelling around the United States.

Niall fell in love with the all American diner and on his return to Ireland, decided that an American themed diner might just be the unique dining experience that Irish people were looking for (even though they didn’t know it yet!).

And this is where the Eddie Rockets story begins.

Niall, who’s not one to sit on his laurels, immediately began his mission to source the best of authentic American diner fittings – from the much loved mini-jukeboxes to sourcing diner booth manufacturers and also testing out many many recipes in order to cater the Eddie Rockets menu to Irish tastes.

Finally Niall’s hard work paid off and he opened the very first Eddie Rockets diner on South Anne Street, Dublin 2 in the autumn of 1990 – word of mouth travelled fast and Niall’s concept diner was a roaring success with people travelling far and wide to visit Ireland’s only 1950’s themed American diner.

The diner certainly had a huge impact on the Dublin dining scene and why? Simply because Eddie Rockets has a highly distinctive brand identity, a friendly and inviting atmosphere, delicious in-house recipes and generous portions of fresh not frozen food.

After the success of the first diner, Niall then opened four more outlets in a very short space of time – which were equally as successful as the very first diner. By then Eddie Rockets had garnered a very special place in the hearts of Irish diners.

Unprompted, people began to ask about purchasing an Eddie Rockets diner franchise and without ever seeking franchisees, Eddie Rockets then opened a further 10 franchised outlets.

By early 1997 Eddie Rockets had 15 outlets trading, 13 of which were in the Dublin area – a city of 1.25 million people and with franchise queries coming in fast and furious from not only Ireland but also from abroad, Eddie Rockets was always going to soar!

To this day Eddie Rockets enjoys an ever growing reputation which is reflected in healthy turnovers and profitability. The number of diners has expanded massively and in early 2006 there are currently 25 diners in Ireland and one in Liverpool in the UK.

But watch this space as 2006 promises to be Eddie Rockets busiest year yet, with lots more diners planned in Ireland and Europe.

And as ever Niall is as busy making sure that everything runs as smooth as a strawberry malt – an Eddie Rockets Strawberry Malt of course!

    Our Mission:

Super food & a friendly service, superb cleanliness & satisfied customers

“If it’s not for you….You’re not for us”

    Niall Fortune

Founder and Managing Director of Eddie Rockets."

    hope it helps!!:)
