What are the alternatives to sooting hen harriers?

it is said they are decimating the grouse; shooting is apparently the only solution. what are the alternatives,and what are the arguments of those who oppose this?

think about what you said"it is said" there is no direct proof they are the cause,these are a bird of prey and are PROTECTED gossip and rumours have been the cause of many extinctions of innocent species.In Ontario predation of eggs by skunks,raccoons and possums is the major cause of grouse population decrease.Grouse living in brush and wooded areas are hard for predator birds to kill cannot swoop down on them Need to get your facts straight and if you are shooting these birds of prey I hope you get caught and charged these are innocent victims the rare grouse kill to feed their young is not worth the slaughter of a spieces

Do you mean shooting??  It is illegal in the US to hurt, harm, harass, or kill ANY native wild bird (unless it is a game bird during hunting season for that species with the proper licenses and limits).  All birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.  Which grouse species are they decimating?  Most endangered birds are endangered due to habitat loss which is caused by HUMANS, not other birds.
