  1. the hittites belong to anatolia and not mesopotamia.  groups in mesopotamia include sumerians, kassites, amorites, lullubi, gutians, akkadians, babylonian is a dialect of akkadian along with emarite and amurro. other groups include the mitanni to the north of the euphrates, ugaritic-speaking peoples, and elamite to the east of the tigris. groups of anatolia and the caucasus include the nesili(hittites), palili(pala or palaic), luwili(luwians), kaskians or gasga, hurrians, urartians, etc. etc.
