  1. At one time there were Celtic people on the island. Then the Romans came and their soldiers were from all over the known world.

After that the Germanic Anglo, Saxons and Jutes.  Then the Danes came and ruled. After that the Normans came from France and for a few centuries French was the court language in England.

  2. The English people come from a mixture of Celtic, Germanic, and Scandinavian origins.  Both the Celts and Germans have their origins in Central and Northern Europe while the Scandinavians probably came from Asia Minor.  At any rate, DNA markers can't tell the difference between any of these groups:

---Tacitus noted there was no great difference between southern Britain and northern Gaul.  Julius Caesar, who invaded Britain between 54 and 55 BCE, noted in "De Bello Gallico" that the population of southern Britannia shared much in common with the Belgae of the Low Countries.  At the time of the Roman conquest, they spoke a Celtic language generally thought to be a forerunner of modern Cornish and Welsh.

---In the wake of the breakdown of Roman rule around CE 410, Germanic settlers progressive settled what is now England:  Jutes from Jutland, Frisians, Saxons from northwestern Germany, and Angles from Schleswig-Holstein.  The Jutes settled in Kent, the Saxons in Essex and Middlesex, the Angles in Norfolk, Suffolk, and the Midlands.  The Danes conquered Northumbria, northwestern Mercia, and East Anglia in the 8th and 9th century.  Shortly before the Norman Conquest of 1066, the Norwegian rulers of Dublin took over the Danish kingdom of York.

---Finally, in CE 1066, a small group of "Frenchified" Vikings,  called Normans, made up between 5,000 and 8,000 warriors, conquered England.  They had only been allowed to "settle" in France in  CE 910.

  3. During the Iron Age the country of England was inhabited by people that crossed a land bridge from mainland Europe and they were called Britons.  The Britons spoke a Celtic language so were also known by that name.

Then came the Romans and Hadrian's Wall.

After the Romans, Germanic tribes called the Angles, the Saxons, and the Jutes.  There were also the Scots from the north and the Picts as well.

Throw some Vikings (aka Normans) in there and you have a pretty good list to work from.

  4. they are a mix of the native people 1st. and then the invading people, the Celts , Pics, Normans ,Anglos, Saxons an so on.,

  6. The Saxons should actually be "Isaac's son's", which got shortened to "Zac's son's".

    "Zac's son's" got slurred to Saxon's.

After Israel went into captivity in Babylon (Iraq), they were forced north by the Medes.

The Tribe of Dan, a tribe of Israel, names places beginning with a varient of Dan.

The old hebrew language had no vowels, and apparently is similar to the Wlesh Language.

    Denmark literally means Dan's place.

The Danes, and vikings, settled in Britain.

  7. The ancient origins of the English people is in the location that is now Germany and Scandinavia.  Before that their origin is the same as all human beings, on the African continent.
