  1. Do you own homework! STOP BEING LAZY!! & The person above is wrong!!!

  2. PLEASE, use your own brain! It's not that difficult!! howrse questions DO NOT belong in this section!

  3. 1. Western boots have high heels to prevent the rider's foot from slipping through the stirrups.

    2. A red ribbon means you might get kicked if you ride up close behind this horse.

    3.  If a strap extends from the martingale to the noseband, it is used as a tie-down to prevent head-tossing or to help set the position of the head.  If not it's for decoration.

    4. Sorry, don't know this one, but it may not be true.

    5. When mounting your horse in an active arena, take your horse to the inner area to avoid interfering with traffic around the outside (usually-although if it's busy in the center, don't mount there).

    6. True, but not always followed-Western riders don't usually wear helmets.

    7. Riding gloves can be a blessing or a curse-good in the winter and when managing foliage, bad for your ability to hang on to the reins.

    8. It is safe to leave a horse's halter on in the pasture if it's a leather halter.  There is less skin and hair abrasion than with a nylon one, and it is more easily broken if the horse gets it caught on something (although, a 900 lb horse can break the metal parts on any nylon halter).

  4. Have no idea what howrse is but here are my answers. :-)

#1 high heels keep the boot from sliding through the stirrup in case you fall off won't get dragged.

    #2 horse is a kicker

#3 used to help set a horses head, provides slight downward pressure on the bit when reins are tightened.

    #4 yes

#5 move out of traffic area, tilt horses head slightly towards you to keep it from moving off. Personally I wouldn't do it if I had a choice.

#6 yes, helmets help prevent head injury.

#7 protect hands both from the elements as well as from the reins. help rider keep firmer grip on the reins so they don't slide through

    #8 no, never, absolutely not.
