  1. the only test you need to take is english, but if you want a math class you gotta take the math test too, also you get out of these test if you scored high on the act or ged, maybe be other exceptions or tests i'm leaving out

  2. Its all the basic stuff...the test consists english, math, and writing. All will determine the level of you knowledge. If you score a certain percentage on each subject, then yes you can go straight to taking required classes to graduate.

  3. They should have specific areas for you to concentrate on, such as a "Math Placement Test" or "English Placement Test". If they don't, then they will cover the general subjects, like Math, English (Reading Comprehension) and Writing (under a timed environment - much like a final exam at the end of a semester). As for how you can study, that's a bit more tricky. You can try (if you still have time) to ask the educational advisor if they have any suggestions, whether you buy a book for review or whatnot. The purpose of these tests are to see whether you meet the minimum requirements to take the university level classes, and if not, you will need to upgrade (usually be taking "qualifying studies" at the community college) to be eligible to enroll in university level classes. If you get a good score, it does not mean you can skip the general education or pre-requisite classes. The placements tests are to see if you are up to par with the university or college's standards in academics. You will still need to take the pre-requisites to Nursing.
