I have seen many questions attaking directly the Christians by the atheists, even if they don't believe in nothing. So why asking questions about our religion? Are they trying to make us turn atheists like them?Or making us having doubts?

I hope no atheists are insulted by my question and God bless.

  1. I'm here because the rules don't require one to BE religious or spiritual.

  2. Funny thing... one does not have to BE a cat to go to the Cats section.... hmmm... wonder what that might mean....?

  3. To make fun of Christians, they have no life obviously.

  4. I think, the real aim of every one of being on this section should be to share his knowledge with others.

  5. they want to have some fun here, and they get it i bet

  6. atheists dont have a religion but they do have a stance on religion (none) and have as much right to be here as anyone else.

Perhaps they want to know why you believe things that seem utterly ridiculous to them?

  7. What are the christians real aim of being at the circus?

Same answer for me, I decided this was no place for a debate, it's not a forum.

Are you maltese? So am I!! XD

  8. Atheists have nothing to believe in and nowhere to go so they come here. I guess we can give them comfort or whatever, who knows! Maybe we are fulfilling their subconscious need for a greater strength than their own simple ego. Just my guess.

  9. My goal is to make people think.  I am a big fan of free thinking.

    That, and to fight boredom

  10. They are here to evangelize us and to make converts to their way of thinking.

  11. I would haft to say that it's a mixture of both of your questions.  Some of us are probably trying to turn on your religion.  Some of us, like myself, want people to think outside the box by focusing more on reality rather than what we like to call superstition (no offense).  Others, like the first person that's answered, well, might do it just to for the heck off it.

And by the way, I'm not offended by your question.  I just hope your not offended by my answer.

  12. "Turn atheist like them"

LOL we are not vampires, it is not like we were bit by an atheist and then "turned" into one.

I hope this does not offend any christians.

I am hear to reach people that actually want to seek knowledge and truth instead of belief and faith.

Beleiving something does not make it true, having faith in something does not change this.

You can believe all you want to, but belief does not change the facts.

Namely that most of the bible is at best embilishemets of historical events for the purpose of telling a fable with a moral and at worst pure fictional rubish meant to scare people that had skeptical doubt about the early christian cult.

Every now and then I encounter a sensible person that realizes this and adjusts their attitude accordingly whether or not they still chose to believe in christianity that does not concern me what concerns me is the idea that many christians seem to think they can say they KNOW for a FACT the bible is true or that god is real etc simply because they believe it.

    Pure fallacy.

They do not KNOW such things for a FACT other wise they would be able to demonstrate this empirically to any willing observer.

If one can not do so then it is fair that they should admit that they do not know and even though it is irrational they want to believe the bible, god, jesus etc is true and that this is why they have faith.

That would at least be a rational attitude towards those that do not share your beliefs.

Once again believing and faith do NOT determine what is true about the facts and reality.

But many of those fundamentalistic bible literalists are unwilling do accept any of this because they believe doubt is evil and so they must insist that they know things that they do not and claim that their beliefs are based on facts when their beliefs are not based on facts at all because facts tested to verify the truth.

What I hope to accomplish is that the christians I debate, answer, or ask questions of,  at least be sensible about their subjective and entirely personal BELIEFS which for the most part have no bases in reality in terms of actual facts that support those beliefs.

I get "I believe christ is my savior"

What I do not get "I believe the bible and it says... yada yada.. and that’s the truth atheists like it or not"

The only part that is likely true is the part where you say you believe, usually the rest can not be demonstrated as true and is mere speculation on the part of the believer.

That all that I ask it that you admit that you believe it is true not insist that it is true.

I hope that this makes sense to you and that it lets you know why I am here.

I am here to help people understand that truth is objective and exists apart from belief and that facts are what determine reality and the truth and not a persons subjective faith or beliefs about the truth which many believers seem to think makes it real.

I am not attacking christianity but more accurately I am defending the definition of truth as facts that can be known about the nature of reality.

But for some reason many christians feel like this is not just an attack on christianity but a personal attack on them as well, not my intention at all and if any feel that way well too bad.

We are all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions sure, but we are not all entitled to our own factual truths about objective reality.

    Doesn't this make sense?

Any way have a nice day.

  13. You pose a good question. My hope is you will investigate your religion, before blindly following your view of christianity. And I also hope you will realize there are more paths to heaven than your denomination. In truth it doesn't matter to me if you become an atheist.

  14. It's very simple.  It isn't so much of an attack on Christians as it is putting forth common sense.

When the religious take their time to involve themselves with their agenda in so many different avenues, what choice do people who base their decisions upon facts have?

This isn't an attack, this is a post based on facts.

FACT:  There is not one single piece of factual evidence to support the existence of a god.

The above statement is true.  Everyone knows it.  If there was a fact to support the existence of a god, everyone would know it.

Now, take the agendas of the religious.  They actually call pro-choice, pro-abortion.  NOBODY is pro-abortion.  Not the women who need to have it done, not the doctors who need to perform it and certainly not any sane person.  But, the fundamental right to freedom of choice for the woman to do what she needs to with her body far outweighs the operation.  Yet, religious organizations call getting pregnant a miracle of god and that god does not want the unborn child to die.  Yet, you have no facts to support this god's existence.  Even though, we know what really causes a pregnancy, organized religion thinks that's too dirty and would still rather just call it a miracle.  Think I am talking about just the hardcore religious folks?

Then tell me why, after over 35 years since Roe v. Wade is abortion still an issue with our government?  Our founding fathers specifically wanted a separation of church and state because church has no basis of reality.  It is all faith and belief.  Do not confuse belief and believing.  When you believe in something, it is based on facts.  When you have a belief in something, it does not have to be based on facts.

  15. Because we are exchanging ideas and views.

Plus, the Christians would protest to take down the 'atheist' section.

And admit it, if there was an atheist section a lot of christians would join in.

    :)

    I

  16. Or we want to know how someone can think that way, or we're curious, or we have time.

I'm here because I have time. I am procrastinating the living daylights out of writing a paper and doing rather well at that.

  17. Education.

Educating the religious of their foolish error.

Educating ourselves as to the depths of ignorance to which many of the religious sink.

Educating the world as to the dangers of unchecked religious nutcases.

Also amusement and harvesting quotes for FSTDT.

  18. It's fun.

  19. I'm here for fun
