  1. The closest is I think the "Bibliotheque Francois Mitterand"

    Use this link http://www.bnf.fr/

  2. I don't know if there are any touristic places nearby, but I know for sure you can take the subway from there (1.4 per trip or 1.1 euros if you buy 10 tickets) and go to the Eiffel Tower -stop is Trocadero- the Louvre .-stop Louvre-Rivoli.- the Arc de Trioumphe and Champes Elysees .-stop Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, the area of Saint Michelle and Notre Dame -stop Hotel de Ville...

    Have fun!

  3. i am not sure what there is to see near there. i would be careful around this area though as when i was there for a brief period while i was studying abroad myself and a friend were chased by two men into the metro.

  4. That would depend on what you consider near.

Paris is a fairly compact city with an excellant public transportation system. As a practical matter, all the tourist attractions are "near" any address in the city or within reach of a Metro station.

The Novotel is not actually in Paris but just outside in the suburb (banlieue) of Le Kremlin-Bicetre. It is about 25 minutes by Metro to the city center. This area has a few crime problems and you should exercise caution when moving around at night. The local government maintains a website which you may find useful (in French) http://www.ville-kremlin-bicetre.fr/frm....

Its most prominent attraction is the old facility for the criminally insane.

There is a nice billiard parlor at 23 av Fontainebleau and the Espace Culturel André Malraux at 2 pl Victor Hugo has various festivals and expositions ( http://www.ville-kremlin-bicetre.fr/actu... ). Otherwise there are no evening attractions.

As for shopping, there is a Tati at 50 av Fontainebleau. Tati is a chain of discount clothes stores, but they also sale toys, cheap jewels, candies, clothes accessories. There is a discount shoe store called Pele Mele at 16 av Fontainebleau.
