What are the average monthly fees for GPS traffic receiver service?

I'm talking about the service for live traffic updates. Like traffic jam ahead, 3 car accident ahead, etc.

i know someone who has a garmin, and he doesn't pay any monthly fees. the only thing is, whenever a new update comes out with any new or altered roads, it will cost you around 80$

Most of the TMC RDS traffic cost about $5 a month and you need to buy the subscription from the GPS manufactures.

Company like DASH seems to have excellent traffic information and their GPS unit is $299 with a monthly service charge of $10 a month and you will get free map updates and traffic service for that fee.

Top 3 GPS manufacturers #1 Garmin, #2 TomTom #3 Magellan. DASH have not sold enough unit to make a dent in the total NA GPS PND volume.

DASH is not great for routing but excellent for traffic information and if Traffic information is what you need, I would recommend the DASH GPS unit.
