Question:

What are the basic directions for connecting a DVD Player to a TV?

Including all the wires, and where, if you could! I think I am putting in the correct wires, and the TV and the DVD Player are both working well, but they don't seem to connect.

Any tips or directions is appreciated.

Thanks!

  1. You know, just as the other guys said above, I would follow to double check the wiring to see if it's connected.

If it is, then the only step your missing is setting the new TV to the correct "input" so that you're tv is reflecting the dvd player.

In other words, check your remote and look for a button that reads "input" or "aux" and hit those while your dvd player is running.  Your new TV should have a few input channels and i bet your dvd player is connected to one of them.  Keep hitting the button till the input channel in which your DVD player is connected to show's a picture - and you're done!

  2. if you have the yellow cable with red and white...all you do is this

turn the tv so you can see the back part..also your dvd..

    then.

1 - connect the yellow cable to the tv. then the other part to the dvd..

2- do the same with the red and white...the red goes to red.

    and white goes to white...

  3. If it's a standard resolution DVD, then it should have composite outputs.

Connect the DVD's video (yellow) cable to the TV's Video-In. Then connect the DVD's audio (red and white) cables to the TV's audio-in, typically of the same color.

When you want to view DVDs, you need to set the TV input to be the DVD. It's usually called either "Line" or something like "Video-1".
