  1. A commercial pilot must pass the FAA second class medical exam to retain flight privileges.

There is no educational requirement for the Commercial Airman Certificate, and some forms of flight employment are available to High School graduates.

Military and airline pilots all must have 4-year college degrees.  The same goes for most serious corporate aviation operations.

  2. Pass an FAA Class II medical exam. You can find the specifics at

    http://www.aopa.org/members/files/fars/f...

(Though you can take the Commercial check ride with a Class III medical certificate, you cannot exercise the privileges of a commercial license without at least a class II)

Educational requirements are only those needed to be signed off by an instructor to take the written exam. This will include any ground school and /or self-study needed to pass the test.

There are no college degrees/courses required, however, just about all employers prefer a college degree. (Not necessarily in aviation)
