  1. all of the new processors especially the dual cores main idea is to limit how much processing power it has to use for simple tasks. such as downloading music and such. so in the end ull be able to run a lot more at once instead of having to close things to open others.

  2. Unlike the 8086, 8088, 80186, or 80286, the Pentium II is a 32-bit processor. Unlike the 386 SX, a Pentium II has a full 32-bit data bus. Unlike all 386s, a Pentium II has an integrated math coprocessor (sometimes called a "floating point unit"). Unlike the original Pentium, it supports MMX instructions, which are useful for video decoding and playback, as well as 3D gaming. Unlike the Pentium or Pentium MMX, it has it's L2 cache integrated into the processor die itself, rather than on the motherboard. This makes it slightly faster at the same clock speed, since it does not take as long to fetch data from the cache. Unlike the Pentium Pro, a Pentium II has more L2 cache, and is packaged (in desktop processors) in a slot cartridge, rather than a socket.
