What are the basic needs of children in a pre school environment?

  1. The one important thing that most people and books DO NOT tell you about is LOVE.  If the care providers LOVE the children, then your child will learn.  They will grow up in an environment that fosters learning and the rest of the things.  That is something that you cannot pay for and you can usually tell if the people have been there for long periods of time.  

    The curriculum is important but what is vital is LOVE.

    * personal space (cubbie/hook)

    * nutrition

    * developmentally appropriate materials/activities

    * positive interactions with teachers/children

    * healthy practices

  3. INTERACTION...continuously and a lot of controlled hands on interaction...and a schedule

  4. You need to start by putting things up on the wall like the A. B.C. then you could put on some posters of teddy bears or what on the wall . Then you could put in some messages you now those posters that say like Attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference.

    These were my basic needs when I was in pre school, well I think so , can't really remember.

Lots of free play to support independent learning, focus sessions relating to a relevant curriculum that takes from many areas (e.g. for UK, Early Years Foundation Stage; PSED, CLL, MD, CD, PD, KUW), lots of encouragement for social interaction - develop the personal, emotional and social development and the rest comes much easier!  All should take place in a stimulating, calm, supportive and caring environment.
