  1. normally speaking, cultural anthropologists do not study ancient civilizations, but only rarely when comparing modern indigenous cultures.


  2. Why is a cultural anthropologist studying an ancient civilization? That will lead to the other questions being asked which may have to do with subsistence, economics, politics, living practices, ritual practices, religion, spiritualism etc.
