  1. Step #1 find a rich person who will pay you.

Seriously, chess is not well paying.

  2. You need to know how to play chess

  3. First of all, join an established Chess club in your area.  They will recieve notifications of Chess Tournaments and invitations.  Then go to those tournaments and maybe even apply and play.  If you win a lot, your name will become well known and you will become a Master.

  4. Read up on openings, then middlegames, then endgames

  5. I Got a whole list...

    1) You shouldn't be handicaped

    2) You should think

    3) you should know the rules and pieces on the board

    4) you should atleast win against a people in your circle.

  6. get glasses

    where pants way to high

o and it might help to be asian : )

  7. My rating is 2177, and I'm hardly a pro.  You're going to have to get a lot better than that to be a professional.

  8. Just keep playing, practicing, reading books about chess startegy, and playing against someone better than u!

  9. I'd join a chess club.

Basically you'll have to try to remember pretty well every possible move and tactic possible.

The only way you can do that is through hours of practice, and pounding the chess books with study.

Once you start winning local chess games at your chess club you can move up… maybe do some state competitions. From there the sky's the limit if you can win games ;)

  10. To go pro I'd imagine you'd need to join a club. Check for a club at your school (or start one) or check online for a club in your area and join. Learn the lingo and the history behind it and start kickin' butt!

  11. Well, first off, you know have to play chess. If you are a respectable player, I recomend joining an chess club, I like ICC (internet chess club). If you do good on ICC, i say you could look up tournaments with USCF, or FIDE ratings, but your own, and just go to as many tournaments as possible. If you get to around 2200 rating, consider yourself a pro, and work to get even better at it.

    good luck!

  12. For starters, you should be a member of either FIDE or USCF and be rated.  I've heard the prize money is not very much.
