What are the beaches like in Rio?

I would say Copacana and Ipanema are ok, they are nice good beaches (some undercurrents though so be careful) but to me the best is in Barra, it's called Praia de Pepe. Barra has better beaches, they are more clean and the water is better there. I've been inside the sea in Copacabana and didnt like it that much, then in Ipanema and it was a bit better but nothing beats Barra beaches, especially Pepe.

Ipanema is very nice to hang out and always crowded. Barra has a better water condition for bathing (clearer) and quieter. To get more information about Rio go to :
