  1. There are many benefits from boxing, but one of them isn't knocking people out when you get angry. One benefit, though,is learning self control and not losing your temper. Every fighter knows that an angry fighter is an out of control fighter, and always ends up on the wrong side of a knock-out.

Now, the benefits are very good eye/hand coordination, increased stamina and good muscle tone. The bad things are sore and swollen hands and fingers,a broken or flattened nose and facial bruising. And no,it does't cause fat thighs.

    Good luck.

  2. So basically you want to roll around like a little ***** beating people up when you gets angry?

I understand wanting to learn to fight to defend yourself or to compete, but you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

  3. Girls shouldn't box if they wanna be appealing to boys ,But they should box if they like girls How about you just hit them with something or get a weapon, you dont sound like the sporting type. lol

How about scaring them for life mentally, how about you get a picture of them and correspond with inmates using her pictures and sending from her address, then dump the guy, tell him hes a creep. Then when he gets out, EH! revenge time.

    Like Al Capone said

You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

  4. If your prime motivation for boxing is to get into street fights, you are going to have to look elsewhere. Boxing is neither good for street fights nor would any self respecting trainer allow you to engage in that type of behavior and continue training. You might want to try mixed martial arts instead, or a martial art better suited for women (a lot of my female friends who practice martial arts practice jiu jitsu, which makes it easier for a smaller person to take on a bigger person).

But as for the rest of your question: the negatives. You won't get fat thighs. You might get muscular thighs, but not fat thighs. That's not really a negative. Really training for boxing takes a LONG time and A LOT of hard work. Expect to give up most of your life. Expect to be in the gym training for hours and hours almost every day. Expect having to stay on a hardcore diet. It's not like you go and take a lesson for an hour for a few months and then you are awesome at boxing. You also can get hurt, can suffer brain damage, broken bones, or damage your eyes. You'll get cut up. A broken nose is also not a pleasant experience. See the link I've attached for what a fighter goes through after their fight.

As for the benefits, you will be in amazing shape. You'll be more confident. You'll be much healthier. You'll be in complete control of your body. You'll be able to defend yourself from most people you are likely to meet, provided they are untrained. Heck, you might even enjoy it.

Don't listen to one of the above posters who argued that boxing isn't for girls. If a guy won't dig you for boxing, he's not a guy you should want to know anyway.

    Good luck

  5. Listen "Baby Girl" Fat thighs are the least of your problems

its your nose that should worry you and getting hit on the head contanstly,,, Just dont box, go watch the hills or old episodes of the oc

  6. from your question it doesn't sound like you should fight. go play tennis or swim instead
