The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the key issues in the Middle East. Solving this conflict has never been harder. Reoccupation may create a stabilizing effect on national security and bolsters the wall, but it may be disastrous for the peace process. Israel would be reverting back to solutions based only on military intervention. The creation of a semiautonomous homeland for Palestine, that eventually leads to the creation state, would be best in terms of long-term peace and security for both sides. There is a connection between the occupation and the intifada. Terrorism developed on its own, and the occupation can minimize it, but cannot eliminate. It became clear under Ariel Sharon that the targeting and tracking of militant underground groups was not, in itself, effective. However, it would push back the peace process more. Bush's policies, the international underground network of militancy, funding from Iran and Syria, lack of aid and Bush's policies made it worse
