  1. Beating down Jews.

  2. The old wisdom behind fasting is that  it's very beneficial to your health.

This was actually discovered by the Greek psysician Hyppokrates.

  3. NONE.

Why would you want to starve yourself , everyday for 30 day

    Dont make sense

  4. Like any other religion that practices Fasting, the main idea is to get closer to their God, imitate their God, feel what they went through, clean your body of toxins for some time, and eventually, do or perform as their God requests of them or us.

  5. Self-control, showing that Islam is a practical religion and way of life rather than just theoretical, an annual purging of the soul so that you can detatch yourself from materialism and focus more on Allah, a universal display of the unity of Allah and His creation and compassion and empathy for the poor and starving. Ramadan is the actually event, it is celebrating the greatest miracle performed by the Prophets, which in the case of Muhammad S.A.W was the Quran, and Eid actually has no religious significance at all, it is a celebration of the completion of Ramadan and by the end of it, the idea is that having suffered hunger themselves - people are more inclined to give generous donations to the poor on Eid.

well the wisdom behind fasting is to feel with other Muslims mainly the poor and needy brothers and sisters or in other words, the unity.

actually fasting doesn't only mean to give up eating and drinking, it goes further to give up abusing, insulting and other bad manners etc., so as a training of the mind and character to produce self-control.
