What are the benefits of green tea?

A lot of people are talking about this at the moment and I was wondering what the great attraction is.

  2. I have just recently started drinking green tea, about a week and a half ago. Something I didn't expect is that my fingernails (which have always been soft and tear easily) are getting stronger. I also feel better generally. I drink about 2-3 cups a day.

    Oh by the way I think it tastes disgusting, but I'm going to keep drinking it anyway

    Tastes bad, must be good. lol.

  5. Very few proven at present in spite of all the 'reports' above. It has certainly been shown to fatten the bank balances of those who sell it for inflated prices.

    So called 'Top Contributor' above is slightly bending the truth when he/she says it speeds up the metabolism. The wikipedia site names this as one of the unproven claims. Neither is 'TC' a top contributor if you float your mouse.

    The  Claire S. link again only has 'maybe' and 'possibly'.

    If it tastes nice, excellent, go for it. But don't think it will improve your health.

  6. I've already hat 3 cups today. It's full of anti-oxidents, hydrating, just health in a cup. wonderful for you, and it's possible to buy decaf as well, if you drink it at night, won't keep you up (which is the only negative effect green tea would ever have).......it's also good for weight loss. Keeps your metabolisim up more than water.

    It is high in anti-oxidants, contains less Caffeine than other teas and it quickens your metabolism.

    I think I'm gonna go drink some now.

             There are some things which help prevent it, like green tea and fruits.

    Hey down there I started to drink it and noticed after a month or so I was losing weight, I wasn't eating any different or exercising more.

  8. It is also good if you are trying to conceive...so watch out if you are not! Also has good anti-aging effects.
