  1. were have u been for the past century??

  2. iPods are very simple, you buy the iPod, which comes with headphones and a usb connector to your computer. You also have to download the itunes software from apple.com or ipod.com (you just click the box, save it, open the file, and install it). When the iPod is plugged in with the usb connector, itunes will automatically recognize the it, and you simply drag the songs that you want on it into your iPod's folder. YOu can buy songs using the iTunes store as well at about 99 cents a song, built right into the software.

How many songs you can fit on it is really up to what version of the iPod you buy:

1 or 2 gigabyte iPod shuffle (very small, no screen): 50$ or 70$... holds roughly 200 or 500 songs.

4 or 8 gigabyte iPod nano (fairly small, very slim, can play video as well): 150$ or 200$... holds roughly 1000 or 2000 songs.

8, 16, or 32 gigabyte iPod touch (bigger than the nano, but doesn't have any buttons as the entire surface is covered in one big touch screen, allowing easy navigation of songs, movies, games, and even use the internet or buy songs straight onto it): 300$, 400$, 500$... holds roughly 1750, 3500, or 7000 songs.

80 or 160 gigabyte iPod classic (huge space, capable of videos, mainly for if you have a huge music collection, or for some reason really want to watch movies on the go): 250$ or 350$... holds 20000 or 40000 songs.

Chances are, you are going to be looking at the nano, which has sufficient space for most people's music, is fairly small, and easy to use.

The shuffle (which I use) is great if you don't have too big a collection, don't care what's playing, or don't have much money, and its also ideal for running or working out.

The iPod is an accesible and easy to use mp3 player. Navigating songs is easy, and the software used to load songs on to it is also simple and quick. Its not necesarilly the best, but it has lots of accesories, from cases, to speakers, to armbands, no matter which version you buy, so you know that.

They are also generally fairly durable, and if they do break, apple is fairly good about doing what they can to help.

I hope this helps you and anyone else looking into iPods, just remember to look at other mp3 players as well.
