What are the benefits of jailbreaking an iPod touch, and what are the risks, and how high are those risks?

my ipod touch is an 8 gig firmwre 2.0 jailbroken. on 1.1.4 it was great though on 2.0 there are less apps but more coming once the new apps are made for 2.0 if you use the right tool for your mac or pc the risk is low of anything going wrong if it does you can ALWAYS force your i pod to restore so its worth it for free apps, that are not available other wise s well as apps that apple would not condone due to battery life constraints or whatever if u need help chat with me on im.
