I'm thinking its the ACT that pays for everything if you make a 36, please correct that if wrong. If I am wrong then please direct this question toward the SAT. Also, say I make a 19, what will I have aquired, that the ACT/SAT gives at this level. What about like a 22, 10, 34, those are just examples. Just some sort of chart or something to go by as far as what you achieve as you advance on your score.

  1. If you get a higher score, you can get into a better college and get a scholarship. The SAT determines how well you will do in college, or is meant to at least, so colleges take that into serious consideration when you apply.

If you get a 1500 on the SAT, you can expect to get into some sort of standard college, probably unranked.

An 1800 will generally mean you can get into a good college (like a state college, UVA,UGA, etc)..something in the 50-100 rank

A score of 2100 will grant you a good chance at getting into a private institution like Emory, Vanderbilt, Dartmouth, etc.

A score of over 2250 gives you a really good shot at an ivy league.

Of course past 2100 you have to rely on your extracurriculars and other things to get into those exceptional colleges.

Some colleges offer full scholarships based on your SAT/ACT.

Also, certain scholarships are based on your SAT/ACT standalone from the college. A scholarship of $1000 will easily pay for that fee which will appear ridiculously small in comparison!
