Remember, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Have we learned nothing from the Republican's control of the government? Such an out come is a recipe for more graft and corruption, which this country just can't afford.

  1. A political party can't run all 3 branches of government given the way the Supreme Court operates.  Some of our more conservatives judges have voted 'liberally' due to simply interpreting the Constitution.

However, the 109th Congress + Bush equaled bad news for the US.

  2. None - nearly half of the country is not represented!  Even under the Republicans, many democratic proposals were passed and many programs to benefit poor and underprivileged were initiated.

Under total Dem. control, any conservative issues would be totally ignored.

  3. I think the general consensus is the same and certainly when you look at it with simple common sense its clear there can be no benefits to a Government that controls all. Absolute Power will corrupt almost every time and especially in a country like the US. No small group of individuals should ever have total control...it just doesn't make sense!!

  4. a singel party running all three branches doesn't benefit anybody.

  5. Ideally, I would like to see the Executive and the Legislative branches controlled by opposite parties, and have the two sides work out the issues (ie: COMPROMISE).

But, in reality, it turns out that both the Democrat and the Republicans are like little kids; 'If you don't play by my rules, I'll take my ball and go home!"

  6. The benefits are great if all three branches are controlled by conservatives.

  7. Well the Supreme Court is supposed to be above politics so I won't consider them but having a very liberal tax and spend mentality in both the White House and Congress is very dangerous, especially for the economy..

  8. It's going to be a HUGE benefit for all the lazy loafers in the country that live off the system.

  9. Not much, unless you like a singular government.

  10. The alternative is what we've seen for the last two years.  Thank goodness things get changed up every couple of years to help balance it out.
