We were going to get it but then I got pregnant so we didnt get it because it doesnt cover maternity until a year anyway. What are the benefits of private health cover for a young family of 4 with no existing health problems?

  1. The positives are that you can choose a plan that best suites you and your family, so you can be more flexible with the price you pay and you can have more control over that.

IMO though, the negatives far outweigh the positives.  If you have the option of having insurance through an employer I'd go that way.  Private healthcare isn't horrible, but lets say a child is climbing a tree and breaks a bone...the insurer will go over your app, top to bottom, and they can decline coverage for a tiny little mistake.

  2. Private health coverage can be tailored and tweaked to meet your individual needs. As an example, in some states, you can get maternity coverage with little or no waiting period.

As a broker for 27 years, my job is to find these plans for you.

    I hope this helps.

  3. Benefits

    1) your only paying ur insurance not urs and poor peoples if us went to universal

    2) health care is much better (qualtiy) when a country is private for example some canadiens with universal have to w8 40 days for a MRI.

  4. just like other types of insurance their are MANY policies that change on a consistent basis but if you visit websites like http://www.COMPAREusINSURANCE.com and they will let you know ALL the types of life insurance that are available in your area
