What are the benefits of recycling on the enviroment? How would you promote this to the public?

We use up less natural resource and produce less landfill.

We promote this by taxing extraction of natural resources and disposal of things not recyclable/recycled. Where needed, we subsidize collection of material that could be recycled but not at a profit.

The reason for taxing extraction (and importation) of natural resources  is to make them last longer, of course, but we may as well pay our taxes this way rather than pay on income.

The tax added to produce our goods from new resources drive manufacturers to pay to recycle and reclaim, but it also encourages them to avoid making products non-recyclable.
