AND BY RECYCLING WE CAN OFFER ITEMS THAT WE DONT NEED TO SOMEONE WHO REALLY NEEDS  IT

you use fewer resources like trees, minerals, etc. also you use less fuel to remake the items instead of using raw material. example, aluminum cans. it takes only 10 percent energy to remake from recycled cans vs using raw material to make a can.

Here's one, San Francisco cannot accept any more plastic grocery bags in their landfills, so until they make them bio-degradable, we can go to places like Farmer Jack and buy nice sturdy ones with good handles for 99 cents -by the checkout lanes, and use them like they do in Europe, Krogers gives you a nickle back every time you use your own bags. If you type "footprint" in SEARCH, you will see how to reduce ours to at least Canada's level. We are wasteful!!! Our landfills need to be turned into ski slopes.
