I am 28, about 30 lbs overweight and am wanting to get back in shape. I haven't been in shape in about 6 years, but instead of bulking up on muscle, I am wanting to be lean and fit. What are some good excersises for swimming? I have been swimming on and off all my life, but never really wanted to swim for the sake of fitness until now. Are there any tips you can give me or any books available for me to purchase? Thank you.

  1. hey, just swim around and have fun!!! go to borders(or anyother bookstore) or the library and chack out the fitness section.  they have great books on this topic.  i personally love to swim, and its a great way to stay in shape.  try taking a class at your fitness center.  swimming can be great for you heart, lungs, and can help you cool off in the summer.  another way you can drop pounds and have fun is swimming laps.  it may not be so fun at first, but once you get into it, you'll love it.

  2. Just slowly ease into it and make it a pattern in your lifestyle. Increasing the amount of times a week and intensity slowly will get you into a good pattern. Try mixing it up with short sprints and long distance sets. Make sure you fit yourself onto an interval and push yourself in order to lose those unwanted pounds.

  3. i agree wif mac daddy or u cn get a personal trainer or join a fittness group
