I'm taking AP Spanish and AP Calculus next year, are any of these classes or exams extremely difficult and do you have any ideas of the work involved in the class and the layout of the exam? If you can answer any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  1. The layout of exams are the privy of the teacher of said class. In any AP course you will have to do more work because you will cover more topics and you will cover each topic to a greater degree.

AP classes are better than regular classes because you learn more. And thus later in life/ school career / work force you will already know something of the subject.

  2. Should be OK.  I would definitely take both.

Check your school's school profile and see what the pass rate is.  That should help determine the quality of the class.

Even if it is difficult, it's worth the pay off.  Check the Claremont study in the link for more.

  3. They're basically college-level courses. So they're harder/more advanced.

They look good on your transcript, and you get awards if you do well on a certain number of them. And (perhaps most importantly) you might be able to get credit for them when you go to college - so you're fulfilling some of your requirements and saving some time and money.

  4. Both classes are more difficult than standard classes of the same subject. Depending on your state and how well you do in the class, you may be permitted to take the AP exam which does count for college credit in many cases. Even if you don't take the exam, the AP class will give you more info per hour in class than normal.
