  1. The 5 I would have to have would be salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and hmmm.....  those are the main ones.  I guess if I could only pick one more it would be cumin (mexican flavor).

  2. depends on what you like to eat. my 5 most used spices are garlic powder, garlic salt, montral steak seasioning, old bay, italion seasioning

  3. Garlic- any any form. cloves, minced or powder Hope I don't have to explain what garlic taste like but it is good.

RoseMary-Taste kind of piney cant really explain but it taste good and smells better

Basil- Great for making pesto. taste kinda spicey

    Chives- taste like onions

Sage- good for stuffings Honestly can't describe the taste

Other's I like and use almost daily:

    Dill

    Mint

    Oregano

    Thyme

    Parsley

    Paprika

    Cayenne Pepper

This is a hard question girl! :)

I personally like fresh herbs and use them over dried when I can.

I also like to use onion powder and this stuff I make called Veggie Pepper which is a mixture of Salt, pepper, onion, garlic, celery flakes, and red bell pepper. It is awesome and I use it on everything.

  4. Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning;  I use it on everything (similar to seasoned salt) ... Kosher or sea salt (not iodized table salt) ... fresh ground pepper (not powdered stuff) ... dried dillweed  ...  chili powder ...cinnamon & ginger (for baking)

  5. Garlic powder- it's garlicky, got a sharp taste

Parsley- has not much taste but adds color and interest to food

Ginger- Can be used in main dishes and desserts

Cinnamon- This is a great spice that is used in a lot of different ways

Lemon pepper- I use it whenever I'm feeling lazy

  6. Basil, oregano, thyme, mint, & rosemary.

We grow these herbs in our backyard (much cheaper than buying them) and find them useful for almost anything.

Rosemary is wonderful on grilled salmon with olive oil, kosher salt and ground pepper. Basil is wonderful in a homemade pesto sauce. Thyme and oregano are used in a variety of dishes we cook. And mint we grow for mojitos.

Mint will grow easily and can take over your garden if not careful. Rosemary, oregano and thyme are pretty sturdy and may survive the winter. Basil will have to be replanted every year.

We also grow parsley, but we don't use it as much.
