What are the best Jamaican Resorts?

My family and I are traveling to Jamaica this coming December and were wondering what the best resorts are there. They have to be nice, preferably not in Negril [we were looking at Montego Bay and Ocho Rios], have cool activities, and must be ALL INCLUSIVE! Thanks much!

  1. Try Villa Deja Vu in Montego Bay [all inclusive] Outstanding,

private with large pool and live in staff including driver w/mini bus.   rentalo.com  or    a1vacations.com

  2. Consider a villa as an all inclusive with the privacy of being at home

    http://www.villasinjamaica.com/

If you must go to bookit.com ( all inclusive hotels)

The next best thing is Port ANtonio

  3. Check TripAdvisor.com.

  4. Sandals Whitehouse, the best one there.

  5. Beaches Boscobel- It is in Ohos Rios.  We are going to Beaches for a second time in October.  All inclusive, there is an included babysitting service, they just built a new 27,000 square foot water park.  Go to www.beaches.com  to see all the details.  They always are running specials, too.  For our family of three, for an oceanview suite, it was under $5,000 including airfare.  (We got a really good discount for the time of year- it may be different in December.)  PS- The Beaches in Negril is really nice!! Unless there is another reason you don't like it there!

  6. When shopping around ask about children or accessibility if you have elderly.

    High end

Half Moon (get a villa package)  http://www.halfmoon.com/

Royal Plantation Spa and Golf Resort (ask about children)

    Round Hill (ask about Children)

    Mid Range

    Sandals Royal or White House

sandals dunns river (good for elderly but the ones above are better)

    Grand Lido Braco

    Bbeaches Boscobel (expecially with kids)

    Riu

    Low range

Sunset Resort Mobay (not bad but not the best beach)

    Sunset Jamaica Grand (ochi)

    Royal Demercado

    Breezes run away bay

    Club Ambiance (may be iffy)

shaw park beach and spa (nice but maybe not 24/7 food... ask what there all inclusive includes... dont let them say "all" because all "all's" and hot equ-alls :)

If you feel adventure us you may also try a villa  http://www.villasinjamaica.com/ you can get them with maid service/cooks and stocked if u ask for it!  portland is nice for this something will access to san san beach!

Finaly let me say... check the weather when u are coming.  If you are caught in hurricane (unlikely as that is) i think most hotels have a get your stay free policy ... :) just to let u know... and some are even helping with VISAS!!

    times to come

    easter season - carnival bacchanal

summer - high tourist season / reggae sumfest/ reggae sun splash

spring break (if your a raunchy family)

or low peak e.g. september october to have the place to yourself :)
