  1. An accompanying Marshall amp?

Seriously, I don't line-6 stuff.  It does many different things, but not 1 thing very well.  If you want an 'accessory' there is always a foot switch available.

  2. DO NOT BUY THAT AMP!!!!

I had one. It is the biggest piece of S*** ever. Seriously

Get a simple amp that has gain. Maybe reverb and chorus.

Don't buy an amp with tons of effects built in.

If your planing on playing Rock/Metal get a decent Distortion or Overdrive  pedal (Boss, Maxon, Digitech)

Thats all you need bro. Rock on.

  3. Ah...that's a good practice amp, but if you're thinking of accessories then you might want to rethink your amp choice.

You see, Line 6 amps are modeling amps.  They are meant to give you your sound by emulating famous and popular amps from history.  Therefore, the pure signal coming through your amp is NOT a pure signal.  It's already crunched up and and messed with.  Running a line in for pedals distorts the signal further and makes the entire set up sound really muddy, even if all the components are exceptional by themselves.

I would recommend going to your local guitar shop and grabbing a guitar that is the same model as yours.  Then play EVERYTHING in your price range.  Go by your ear, not the price tag or the one the salesperson wants you to buy.  Don't buy a modeling amp because although it is easier at first, it limits you in the long run.

Then you can buy some pedals (distortion, wah, etc.) and you are on your way!
