I diversify and invest in an ETF.  It is PowerShares WilderHill Clean Energy (PBW).  Small cap growth.  One of its biggest holdings is First Solar which produces thin film solar arrays.  My neighbor is an engineer there.  I wish I had invested when they went public about 1 1/2 years ago at $30;  no up around $250.  But PBW is a good way to spread your risk.  There are others as well.
