  1. I would wait until you get a positive, as it could take quite a while to conceive and you never know what will happen.

But I use huggies for newborn through size 2, then luvs after that. i just bought one of each size and others will buy you diapers you never know how fast your baby will grow or how many you will recieve as gifts.

    Soothie bottles and pacifiers

Pampers baby fresh wipes (as many as you can buy)

Onesies of all sizes (I particularily like the long sleeve ones)

Digital camera if you don't already have one

Desitin Multi Use Clear Diaper Ointment

Multi Use Disposable Pads from Target

    Q tips

    Health Journal for childhood

I wouldn't buy anything else before you are actually pregnant besides these things, such as formula as it will expire.

Also until you conceive, you should be taking vitamins and buy/stock up and use lotion for stretching purposes.

  4. get 2 packs of first size diapers and 2 packs of the next size

get a carseat that fits in your car. if it makes a travel system, juniour can be put on the pushchair without being disturbed

get vests, babygrows, hats, mittens age 0-3 months

    plenty of soft blankets

cot or crib for baby to sleep in

some bottles incase breast feeding does not work

  5. Definitely get bottles just incase the breastfeeding doesnt work...been there and done that!

Travel system stroller....so much easier than waking the baby up to take them from the car to the stroller.

A crib or pack-n-play...if you decide to have a shower dont forget to put the mattress on your registry too!

    A swing...it is a lifesaver!

Diapers, diapers, and more diapers...the baby will leave MANY presents in them for you!  Ask or get at least 2 packs of size 1's and then ask or get some size 2's also.

A camera, if you dont have one already...you can never get those memories back!!!!!!!!  I already have at least 1700 pics of my son and dont regret any of them!

Video camera for those learning things...like rolling over, crawling, and walking...it is amazing if you catch them on video to look back on!!

Blankets...they are very important...both comfy ones and little ones to wrap them in.

    Onsies...cant have enough of them!!

A monitor....use mine like it is going out of style...I hate to not hear my son if he is screaming in his crib.

Any clothes...the baby will throw up...you can have enough!!

A mirror in your car to see your baby while you are driving...I know this is not that important but I was so afraid my baby would throw up and choke while in the car, that seeing him all the time eased my mind!!

I know there are other things but these are the ones that came to mind right now...good luck.

    Spit clothes...can never have enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WashClothes and towels.

SPRINKLING LOTS OF BABY DUST ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Use milk formulas like Similac and Enfamil. Also use products like Aveno,Johnson and Johnson's,Gerber, and Lansinoh.Use diapers like Huggies,Pampers, and Pull Ups

  7. Im on my 2nd child and my last. Im due next month. I have a book called "Everything you need to know about pregnancy" or something like that. If you contact me - I will be more then happy to send it to you because I no longer need it. Its an excellent book and VERY informative... Keep in mind that just because your husband is in the Army - shouldnt limit you from a Baby Shower..... Most of the time - the fathers arent present to them anyway..... Thats your best bet. I say wait for a shower - You get soooo many things from family and friends. Just register at a baby store and they will purchase products for you..... Motherhood comes naturally so dont be nervous. Good luck  & congrats....

  8. I'll answer what I can based on me and my baby but honestly no one knows everything until their baby arrives - you and your baby will learn from each other what is best for both of you!  I wouldn't suggest buying too much until you are pregnant and your baby arrives.

Honestly, my best advice is to not buy anything now.  Once you are pregnant take a friend, relative, anyone who has had a baby in the last year with you to Babies R Us or a similar store.  Create a registry.  Walk around with them for a hour or so and talk to them about products, what you need, what you don't, etc.

Don't think so much about buying now because things change: safety ratings, etc.

And as far as diapers they go by weight.  On each package size it says "for x to x pounds".  You start usually with newborn (N) and then go up by number (1, 2, 3, etc.)  BUT it depends on your child.  I have a very skinny little girl so she's in much smaller sizes than the weight says.  A good rule of thumb is to get one package of N and one package of size 1.  You'll know its time to move up a size when the diaper is not staying on or is leaking at night alot.

As for breast feeding, once you are pregnant the hospital you plan to deliver at should have a class and you can call the local La Leche League to get good advice/help!

    Best of luck ttc!

  9. No one can tell you the best product to use for your baby because many people try many things and believe in many things. You have to see for yourself basically see what works best for your child. Example the hospital told me to use pampers for my baby and he obtained a rash no not a diaper rash but whatever substance or dye that was in them wasnt good for his skin so I had to only use huggies. I can give you suggestions on what I think are excellent products Johnson and Johnson lotions and creams are good Aveeno has the best product to me the oatmeal products and the bedtime wash and lotions are amazing. The best diapers are Huggies brand in my eyes they absorb good and they don't tear up quick. The best milk is breast milk and if you should bottle feed also so that when you travel it wont be such a hassle. The best milk close to breast milk is enfamil I think isomil and similac are terrible my baby wouldnt hold it down. Graco and peg prego are the best when it come down to strollers and car seats they are more durable and I love all the functions of the peg prego products. Bottles I have used even flo and Dr. brown love them they help in reducing air in the baby tummies you have other bottle but all the ones I have tried I love these the most. As far as you going shopping when you find out I don't think that's a great idea you should wait until you are atleat 6 months just to be on the safe side. The clothes and diapers you should never buy clothes 0-3 months or 3-6 in my opinion it should be 6-9 months because infants grown extremly fast and you dont want to waste money for diapers you should start off with size 1 but only get about two boxes they would be in a size 2 really quick. I personally think that 0-3 months in clothes are for premature babies. As far as you having everything you would never have enough of anything when it comes to a child and you say you want to make sure you have the best the best is you and your husband raising your child the best way posible and LOVE. To be honest you have to learn a lot on your own the best teacher is your very own experience you would never know enough but as yop continue to try you would get better at it everyday it takes a great deal of patience. You want to breast feed and that's great buy bras that have the easy access to breast feeding and buy the ontmient because you would have sore nipples LOL I can go on and on but you are going to be okay just breath and take it easy

  10. I suggest you get What to Expect the first year. It tells you everything you need to buy, everything the baby will do, what to do if the baby is sick. Its a great book

EDIT I know you aren't pregnant, but this book tells you what to expect and WHAT TO BUY for the baby.

  11. Buy:

White Cloud diapers (unless your baby has an allergy to them--some do); they are WAY cheaper than LUVS or Pampers, and they fit just the same.

Lansinoh nursing pads.  You will never leak through, and they feel very thin and keep the moisture off your skin so you won't get infections

Cheapest wipes you can find.  You wipe a butt with them. . .why pay for expensive ones?

Start with size newborn diapers and keep moving up in size each time your baby consecutively leaks out the side or fills one too fast (that usually means the diaper is too small).  The weights on the package are just a guideline

If you need help, ask.  gypsy_melon@yahoo.com
