Question:

What are the best bibs for EXTREMELY messy eaters........

My 14 month old son is a mess, every time he eats he ruins, RUINS the clothes he has on. We would simply let him eat with just a diaper but he always pulls his p***s out and pees all over himself and his highchair tray, so he HAS to have clothes on, at the very least a onsie.

What brand or type of bib is the best for trying to keep his clothing clean and presentable? Or I suppose we could just have a stash of "eating onsies" that we could change him into before he eats......

  1. The photo of the bib Beth posted is the one I used to use for my son.

  2. They make bibs that are kind of like shirts and have a pocket at the bottom. Here's a pic of one

  3. Too funny.I find the ones with long sleeves a good bib. Trust me she still make a mess but I find they cover her clothes more so there is less of a chance that her clothes get ruined. Here is an example of one that I like

  4. Dur-A-Bib.

They are the best bibs ever made!!!!

The Gossellins (John & Kate Plus 8) use them too.  And if a bib can survive sextuplets, they can survive anything.

  5. If I'm at home, I take my son's shirt off before he eats and I use a cloth bib ...

If I'm out in public, I use a vinyl bib, they are made of plastic where the food just trickles down; I clean it off with 'Clean N Go' wipes by Pampers.

    Here is the bib

You can buy them at Target they are made by 'Circo.'

    (they are waterproof, 'wipe-off' bibs.)

And here are the wipes I use to wipe them down:

  6. there are bibs that snap up so they catch all the food that doesnt quite make it into his mouth     they are amazing and they work like a charm

  7. For my son we used Tommy Tippee ones which were made from rubber so they wiped clean. We only had 2 because thats all you need. They are very comfy and easy to fasten.

  8. I have one of those thick "plastic" bibs with the little fold at the bottom ( to catch food )  it's huge and you can get them at walmart for about 10 dollars.  Also they are easy to wipe off.

  9. I tried all those.  Evan was bib-proof, a real slob.  This kid could get mashed potatoes anywhere.  Right before I gave up, I tried a hairdresser's apron.  Worked perfectly and they're plastic so you can wipe'em down.

  10. I've started leaving Ian in his 'eating shorts' bc we've got the same diaper (and pulling out) problem (he's 10 1/2 months old)...we leave him in shorts to eat so that we can baby wipe him down or put him in the sink for a quick wash....we tried the pocket bibs but they haven't caught anything....I have a million bibs from my baby shower and I don't even use them bc it's just more to wash!!! so I think you should just have a stash of eating onsies or a stash of eating shorts.....when we go out to dinner or over at a friends house I pack a large bib and try to limit what messy foods he gets while we're out....once we get back home I feed him his normal meal. Best of luck!
