IDEAS

Well if you want mods and downloads and stuff, go to modthesims2.com

You need to register, but it has lots of downloadable houses, TV's, and other custom goodies. BUT BEWARE: too much custom stuff and your game will run very slow. Also, even if you're not interested in downloading houses, you can still just look at all the houses for inspiration.

The three cheats I use the most are

motherlode (money)

boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true (random stuff)

maxmotives (make everyone in household happy)
