  1. there are class 1 rivers literally everywhere.  I'm sure all of them are great.  Try to pick a place you find interesting, such as Montana, and then search a kayaking website.


  2. Depends on what you're looking for... There are some amazing rivers like the Green River in Utah, but be prepared to spend a week on the water at a time.  That's how far apart the river access roads are.

    Are you looking for day trips?  A weekend?  A week?  A month?
