I'm looking to buy my Daughter (10 yrs old )some new cleats. She is a catcher for her travel ball team. I would like to buy something that will be good for her behind the plate and that are lightweight.

Any Suggestions?

  1. Try some Reebok Big Papi's. Very lightweight and comfortable. Or you could get some underarmour cleats, they too are very lightweight.

  2. I wouldn't recommend one brand over another, or let someone do that here for you. Go to a Sporting Goods store with a good variety and try on a few. Have her obviously walk in them, but have her squat as though she was going to catch. Cleats are like a glove, they have to fit just right, and being behind the plate, with all the up and down movement, makes it more important to fit right. My son caught for 12 years and always bought the most comfortable cleat he tried on.

  3. nike makes some good softball cleats...i played little league, high school, and college ball and all my cleats were nike...the brand doesn't really matter so long as they are comfortable and she can maneuver in them you shouldn't need to spend over 40 dollars most sporting good stores have reasonable prices...shes only 10 there is no need to buy her expensive ones cause she will likely need new ones next year.
