UAE, It's extravagant, modern, and yet you can find a variety of cultural things to see and do. it's also very westernised, so you can wear western clothing etc.

Brunei and Singapore.  Brunei because it's fairly westernized, if you're from the western hemisphere, this might matter to you.  If you're female, this will definitely matter to you since many females have restrictions on their travel (you might not be allowed to drive in Egypt, etc).  Singapore since the country is beautiful and the civilization is also westernized.  If you're going for the authentic-I-don't-want-to-see-a-McDonald... experience, smaller cities and rural villages in either place, or even India might do you well.

egypt(yes i know its in africa but its close and their all muslim), and indonesia... both super cheap have tons to do and is pretty safe.
