  1. I go both weekends every year (I live close to Venice). The first weekend has the Three Marias celebration in Piazza San Marco on Saturday and the Flight of the Angel on Sunday. Both events are worth seeing - it will be very crowded. The second weekend, there will be a lot of the better costumes although there are a lot of good costumes throughout the period.
