What are the best fat burning exercises to do at the gym?

I only have about an hour to an hour and a half to spend at the gym 3 to 4 times per week and I would like to know what would be the best exercises to burn the greatest amount of calories in a short amount of time. I'm trying to lose weight so what would I see the best results with?

    Steve, you are somewhat misinformed.   At higher heartrates, you are still burning significant amounts of fat.

    Which of the following is better for weight loss purposes?

    1.   One hour at 65% effort, 500 calories total burned, 350 from fat, 150 from glycogen

    2.   One hour at 85% effort, 800 calories burned, 350 from fat, 450 from glycogen.

    The glycogen has to come from somewhere........


  2. Be careful about strenuous cardio workouts.. Contrary to popular belief the most strenuous cardio workouts don't burn fat. In fact, the body will hold on to fat and take energy from burning glucose instead.     I will recommend you what my experience brought to me.

    For about 1 hour and a 15 min you can done very good work:)

    My offer is to combine weight and cardio in one. Even better - with circle training you will be able to tone your bode and loose weight, after that you are going to do 30 min veloergometer for even results.

    Circle training.

    What is it? It is training for all body muscle groups, but don't panic it is short. For 30 to 45 min you will finish it.

    The concept is: You do 1 exercise for muscle group, after that you do another exercise for different muscle and so on.

    Example: Start with back - 1 set, 1 min or less rest, chests - 1 set, 1 min or less rest. Do that until every main muscles are loaded up.

    After that you can do another circle.

    If you are new in the gym and do not have much experience, try to make one circle. After a while you can make 2 circles with less times for rest between sets.

    Cardio on Veloergometer:

    It is the greatest weight loss exercise.  You have to choose right temp and follow it.

    It is also the easiest weight loss exercise.

    I found some great fat burning tips from the site http://fitness4u.sitesled.com .  There are tips form the top fitness trainers.  There are also some good downloadable free ebooks.  The truth about abs and your six pack quest are also good programs that friends of mine used.  They really give you what you need to lose the fat without losing muscle.
