What are the best features of Cannes?

I am going to cannes oh holiday fro the film festival, but was wandering if anyone knew if there were any good galleries, good clubs, good restaurant, you knkow some reccomandations.

My three favorite restaurants in Cannes are La Fregate (by the beach west of the town center) for their penne al arrabiata, Le Grand Cafe (near the center of town across from the harbour) for their seafood dish called Le Grand Cafe, and Don Camilo (at the top of Le Suquet) for their pesto pasta.  I also found that many times the house wine is just as good or better than the more expensive stuff.  I found this especially to be the case with Don Camillo's white wine.  Delicious!

If you have a chance hop on a train and see some other towns along the coast (Nice, Antibes, Villefranche).

Right on the waterfront there is a restaurant I believe called La Royale that has simply the finest pizza in the world and also the best salads!  It has a red canopy (at least in the winter) and is on the corner near the police station.  That is, turn left as you come out of the Palais and walk past the wharves.  It's very close.

And when you are there, ask at one of the information booths about an arts colony that I think is about a one-hour bus or train ride from Cannes.  A lot of our delegates have done the trip and say it's fantastic.
