  1. Pretty tough to beat Callaway.  You might check out their preowned site.  Don't know what your budget is, but they are cheaper than buying brand new.

  2. I love my Taylormade OS. I am just a weekend player, so I don't see a point of getting them super expensive. My OS are very forgiven and great to play with. You can pick up the great used condition one for around $250 to $350.

  3. Nothing beats the feel of a Mizuno or Titleist forged iron.  These will be very pricey though and are reserved for more experience players.

If you're just looking for a game improvement iron for a good price then I would go with Taylormade 320 or Cleveland TA7.  Great clubs you can find on ebay for under $200

  4. callaway

  5. The best mark-down iron going now is the Ben Hogan B-H 5's. Rock-Bottom Golf.com has them for $199. They are a really good iron, and a name to go with them. And there new!

  6. You need to be more specific.  What is your price range and handicap?  Without these, your answers will just be generic.

Cleveland is a good brand that tends to be cheaper than most other comparable iron sets.

  7. All of the top manufacturers make solid products.  I have owned Titleist, callaway, cleveland, taylor made, and mizuno.  They are all great.  The best is really a matter of opinion.  Tiltiest is the most played on the PGA tour.  That could lead one to think they are the best.  The best for you are the ones that you hit the best.  Go to the golf store and try out as many as you can go with the ones that feel the best and go the straightest.

  8. ping G10

  9. Callaway X-20 irons by far are the best (and they are very forgiving for those with a slice).

  10. Mizuno

Finding 'preowned' clubs would be the best bang for the buck.

  11. I can't recommend a set of irons without knowing your level of play.  I play Nike equipment and am pretty happy with them.  Mizuno makes excellent irons and so does Callaway, Titleist, Ping, and TaylorMade.  Since you don't want to spend a lot of money.  Try Tour Edge since they are cheaper than most manufacturers because they don't have PGA Tour players endorsing their products.

  12. Titleist and Mizuno are probably the Best Constructed Clubs and they retain a higher re-sale or trade-in value for a longer period of time than other brands.
