Hey I'm from GR as well. It always depends on what type of bar you are looking for.  I'm going to give you a sample of the best from each type since you weren't specific:

College crowd: Tequila Willy's, The Margarita Grill, The Black Rose Irish Pub, Z's.

Classy/upscale: Most any bars located inside the B.O.B.,  Graydon's Crossing, Mojo's Dueling Piano Bar.

Biker/rougher: Konkle's, The Web, Kuzzin's, Galewood Tavern.

Caters to a diverse crowd: The Intersection, One Trick Pony, Billy's.
