  2. ReadingQuest has some great graphic organizers for the Social Studies classroom.  I use these in my classroom on a regular basis.

It really depends on the content you are teaching.  Social studies is very broad.  It pertains to history, government, economics, geography, culture, psychology, plus more.  Each of these subjects has many subtopics.  So lots of different graphic organizers can be used.  But some examples might include:

    *maps for identifying for labeling geographic features and locations

    *sequence chains for listing events in chronological order

    *Value charts for debating the pros/cons of issues

    *Cause and effect charts for organizing the causes and effects of important events
