Question:

What are the best historical sites in Brazil?

Brazil is a large nation, but all I ever see is the Christ Redeemer Statue, which is actually not very old. Are there any ruins or ancient things in Brazil? What about other historical sites?

  3. Look I'm Brazilian and here in Brazil to some historic cities such as Ouro Preto, Sabará, Tiradentes and other ... These are historic towns here where I live in Minas Gerais ... In those cities the many interesting things I think it is worth know ....

  4. In Rio we have the house of Portugal's king. When he fled of Portugal to Brazil because of Napoleon. Now it is a museum and a zoo. We have also the house of Brazil's king Dom Pedro I, in Petrópolis. He is son of Portugal king. He wished see Brazil free, like a country and he got, and came king of Brazil.

  5. I don't think there's much in the way of pre-Columbian sites in Brazil. Here's one (it's in Sao Paolo):

    It looks interesting, but it seems like something you'd see, take a few pics, and go back to the hotel.

  6. ahhm i have been to minas gerais, bahia rio grande do sul (i liked the most bcz of the gauchos tche! the meat etc) sao paulo, rio de janeiro, but the most historical is minas gerais with the revolution towns catholic churches with gold details beautiful

  7. is interesting to visit the city Salvador, it have  "information" about the Brazilian history.

  8. if you like to see building you should go to sao paulo

    in downtown there are many historical buildings there

    churches , museums , theahter etc.

    you can go to rio to see the christ too

    and you can go to the cataratas do iguacu, is in the south on parana

    is a waterfall between brazil and argentina

    is beautiful a must see

    you can go to the north and see the beautiful beaches
